圖片 1 /共 40 張: The first image ever produced of a black hole taken by the Event Horizon Telescope on April 10 2019 as observed at the center of Messier 87 in the Virgo galaxy cluster. The telescope was designed specifically to capture images of black holes through a planet-scale array of eight ground-baxsed radio telescopes around the world.

史上第一張呈現黑洞形態的影像，由事件視界望遠鏡於 2019 年 4 月 10 日所拍攝，發現的位置為室女座星系團中的梅西爾 87 星系中心。該望遠鏡是專門設計用來捕捉黑洞影像，其成像原理是使用散落於世界各地，共八座地面無線電波望遠鏡集結成口徑有如地球一樣大的虛擬望遠鏡。
