台灣網球女將詹詠然，在8月世界大學運動會混合雙打4強因暈眩症和中暑退賽後赴紐約參加美國網球公開賽引發爭議。日前她在美網奪冠後，在臉書上聲明表示搭檔辛吉絲(Martina Hingis)向美網申請將女雙首輪賽事排到8月31日之後。
美網透過Twitter回應，根據美網的回覆表示：「我們不評論由個別選手申請延賽這件事，但球員如果前一周有比賽，可以提出特別指定開打日期的要求，但大會有權利接受或拒絕。」
原文：「Hi Rippler， our apologies for the late reply. We do not comment on individual players regarding this matter， but players are allowed to request a specific start date if they are playing a tournament the previous week. This request can be approved or denied by the tournament.
Tournament would not postpone an entire draw for one person， though.」
