AI 取代人工的例子，在當下這個時代正發生得越來越多。據 The Seattle Times 和 The Guardian 報導，隨著 AI 新聞創作工具的日趨成熟，微軟已決定在 6 月 30 日後解聘多名從事 MSN 新聞篩選、編輯、精選工作的合約員工（美國 50 人，英國 27 人）。至於微軟編內的全職員工，則不會受到該變動的影響。

在發給 The Seattle Times 的聲明中，微軟聲稱其和大部分公司一樣都會「按期評估自己的業務」。而此次人事精簡屬於「重新部署」的一部分，同時其也強調這並非「是因當前的新冠疫情所致」。
