美國國務卿龐培歐（Mike Pompeo）8日推文，對台灣捐贈200萬個口罩給美國醫護人員對抗疫情表達謝意。

龐培歐在推文中表示：「在艱困時期，真正的朋友互相扶持。美國感謝#台灣捐贈200萬片口罩支援我們的前線的醫療照護人員。你們在全球對抗新冠病毒時所展現的心胸寬大（openness）與慷慨，是全世界的模範。」

另一方面，龐培歐也呼籲中國和所有國家必須在疫情數據保持透明。當他被問及世界衛生組織（WHO）譚德塞是否應為疫情控制不當而下台時，龐培歐表示：「現在不是進行這類調整的時刻。」
